TELEKOMUNIKACIJE
01 TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Nova Gorica, Cultural Centre, September 19 – 21, 2001
The original idea of the conference was to convey information
and products to the audience, and to make it aware of
all aspects that have to be taken into account.
The conference lasted three days, from 19 September 2001
to 21 September 2001, and took place at the Cultural Centre
in Nova Gorica. 42 experts gave 39 lectures. They presented
the world of telecommunications from their points of view.
The organisers and members of the programme committee
were pleased to see that so many experts from six different
academic areas (technology, economics, law, sociology,
linguistics, and culture) responded to the invitation.
To sum up, this conference provided answers to many questions:
Is a technically perfect product, service or application
enough? A product, service or application should be legally
confirmed, harmonised with the legislation, tailored to
the public mind and should follow the psychology of the
individual.
How to put a product, service or application on the market
and how to sell it? Which medium should be used to bring
it to the potential buyer or user? On a billboard, through
direct sales or mail order, on the Internet…?
Should the contents of the message be serious, humorous,
factual, new-fangled…? Is having speech in a foreign language
"allowed", or is it too personal, perhaps impersonal?
Special thank goes to the sponsors for their excellent
organisation of the conference, and especially to the
general sponsor, HIT d. d. from Nova Gorica, whose cabaret
hall in Casino Perla delighted all conference participants
on Thursday evening. On that evening a relaxed atmosphere
was created by the HIT company, winegrowers from the Goriška
Brda hills, dancers and Sašo Hribar, the well-known Slovenian
humorist.
