RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS 2003
Ljubljana, Mercurius Congress Centre, June 4 – 6, 2003

From 4 to 6 June 2003 the third seminar on Radiocommunications was held at the Mercurius Congress Centre in Ljubljana. The seminar was organised by the Institute for Telecommunications in collaboration with respected foreign and local experts in telecommunications science.
The first day was dedicated to a repetition of the basics of radio and optical communications, legislative news, the future of telecommunications in Slovenia, electromagnetic radiation and compatibility, and an interesting lecture on a microwave weapon.
The second day was to cover the main topic of the seminar – the wireless network WLAN. The audience heard lectures on the history, development, standardisation and services of WLAN networks, and at the end the demonstrator presented the live working of the WLAN Network at the Mercurius Congress Centre. The evening wound up with a pleasant dinner.
The last day of the seminar covered other topics of telecommunications. The representative of the Croatian operator of mobile telephony presented their WLAN solution. Mr. Scholz from Germany presented two interesting lectures on antenna technology and antenna masking. After Mr. Scholz, more focus topics followed.
We can conclude that, once again, the Institute for Telecommunications successfully hosted Slovenian experts on radio communications.
