Seminar on Radiocommunications 2002

In 2002 the seminar proceeded by describing and discovering radio communications from different sides. The organising committee tried to continue with more interesting topics. For example, participants were introduced to the Agency for Telecommunications (ATR) and some basic principles of the Telecommunications Law were described. Well-known experts gave lectures on different topics: theoretical basics of radio dispersion, radio system planning, radio navigation and positioning with different systems.

RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS 2002
Ljubljana, Hotel Lev, June 5 – 7, 2002

The intensive seminar Radiocommunications 2002 gathered many professional participants from Slovenia and abroad in Hotel Lev in Ljubljana from June 5 to June 7 2002.

On the first day of the seminar, basic radio techniques were refreshed and participants were acquainted with the Agency of Telecommunications and Radio Broadcasting, presented by the Director of the Agency, Mr. Nikolaj Simič.

Thursday, June 6, was set aside for lectures on radio navigation, starting with a lecture by Mr. Bojan Stopar, Ph.D., presenting some of the problems in cartography using GPS systems. In the afternoon, some companies presented the use of GPS systems in practice.

On the last day, there were also few lectures from foreign speakers. Particularly interesting was the lecture given by Mr. Daniel Jeegers on radiocommunications in tunnels. He also presented some practical solutions for the Slovenian motorway tunnels of Ločica and Jasovnik.

It could be said the seminar ended well – a statement based on the comments received from participants in person and in writing (questionnaires). Many found this seminar even better than Radiocommunications 2001.
