Seminar
on Radiocommunications 2001
In
the spring of 2001, the Institute for Telecommunication
organised the seminar Radiocommunications 2001 in association
with the Laboratory for Radio Communications at the
Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana.
It was intended for experts in the field of radiocommunications.
At the conference, a large range of theoretical technical
papers as well as a number of papers based on practical
work were presented and the audience had the opportunity
to hear not only Slovenian lecturers but also recognised
experts from abroad.

RADIOCOMMUNICATIONS
2001
Ljubljana, Mercurius Congress Centre, April 18 – 20
2001
A relatively large, interesting and, judging by their
profession, motivated group of people from various parts
of Slovenia and neighbouring Croatia gathered on April
18 2001 in the lobby of the Mercurius Congress Centre,
BTC, Ljubljana, Slovenia, to attend the seminar Radiocommunications
2001- mostly because its leading theme, Planning of
Radiocommunications and Methods and Instruments for
Radiolocation, Radiomonitoring, Reconnaissance and Intelligence
and its prominent speakers from Slovenia and abroad
promised three interesting and highly educational days.
During the three days of the seminar, participants had
a chance to hear thirteen speakers, attend eighteen
lectures, and view the measuring vehicles and instruments
of eight Slovenian companies. Despite the quite tiring
programme, there were enough opportunities, i.e. during
coffee breaks, lunches, and the get-together party,
for socialising, meeting new people and making new business
connections, which was also one of the seminar’s aims.
One could say the seminar ended successfully. Besides,
it was the first time the seminar on radiocommunications
had been organised by the Institute for Telecommunications
in association with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering,
University of Ljubljana. So any ‘blunders’ from our
past can only help and motivate us to be better in organising
future seminars. In any case, we hope there were not
too many of them.
