Application developlment and software solutions

Application development and software solutions in the telecommunications field is one of several activities undertaken by the Institute for Telecommunications.

Researchers within the Institute began developing software solutions for their own needs. They developed software which describes propagation of electromagnetic waves over the air on the basis of antenna characteristics, the power of radio transmitters and other parameters. Later on they expanded these solutions with user and graphic interfaces. 

The second area of application development is oriented to the extended telecommunications market. One example is the development of a system for determining the position of a mobile user via a mobile phone on the basis of a WAP Protocol (Wireless Application Protocol). This project was developed by the Institute for Telecommunications in co-operation with the companies GISDATA (GIS Applications) and EON Mobile (Mobile Solutions).

The Institute for Telecommunications is currently developing system and software solutions for the 'machine-to-machine' market.
